Maritime Floating Staff Welfare Trust
The Maritime Floating Staff Welfare Trust was established on February 12,1993. The Act 1950.The Trust was formed with aim to provide support/assistance to Indians working in foreign shipping companies registered with the Maritime Union of India (MUI), Foreign Owners Shipmanagers Association(FOMSA) and Maritime Association of Shipowners Shipmanagers and Agents(MASSA).
Honorable Trustees floated a scheme for providing medical support to Merchant Navy Officers and their family(i.e.wife and two children)
Officer's wives and their two children up to the age of 21years are eligible to avail benefits of the Trusts medical scheme.Children who
are unemployed and not married are eligible under the scheme.Officers wives covered under any other medical scheme and who are employed and enjoying the medical treatment benefits from their employers may apply to the trust by submitting original bills/receipts for the balance amount of the total support incurred by them for consideration of trust.
Convalescent Health Home
The Maritime Floating Staff Welfare Trust provides Convalescent Home benefits for Indian Merchant Navy Officers and their family members. Presently the Trust is having Convalescent Health Homes in Lonavala (near Mumbai), Raichak (near Kolkata) and Mussorie (near Dehradun). Booking for the Convalescent Homes are done only from Mumbai office one month prior to visit.
